PEGASUS OPERA COMMUNITY CHORUS

COMMUNITY CHORUS

Pegasus Community Opera Chorus was started four years ago in conjunction with the production of Koanga at Sadler's Wells. As a result of the success with the Community Chorus for the production, the company decided to continue developing this work. Community Chorus in Action

The aim of the Community Chorus is to engage local people and people from the wider London community in singing/acting for the lyric stage (i.e. opera and muscial drama).  Our commitment is to offer training in vocal technique for choral and solo performance, presentation skills and stagecraft.  The chorus offers a friendly, open training environment for young professional singers needing experience, community members who like to sing and want to improve, and also for those who've never sung in an opera before.

Community Chorus in ActionAlhough there is an audition process for the chorus, all are invited to give it a try.  Success in auditions is not always based on the best singing, but the potential for improvement.  The Community Chorus also offers a friendly environment for re-engaging with the community, improving interpersonal skills and confidence.
